Part 1 : The Power of Black and White

In this demonstration professional photographer Paul Gallagher FRPS will share with you some of the experiences he has had over his forty-year career making black and white images in the landscapes of the world. From the Great Plains of America to the mountains of China, through the landscapes of the Highlands of Iceland to the frozen Arctic, Paul will talk of his adventures and how the made some of his most captivating black and white images over the decades.

Part 2: Editing techniques

In this session, Paul will share his most up to date editing techniques that are simpler than you may imagine, and you will see colour camera files evolve into beautiful black and white timeless images.

Part 3: Infrared

Paul will share with you another genre of black and white photography that he has mastered over the course of his career: infrared photography. He has developed a technique that is a departure from infrared that you would commonly see with harsh blacks and white, but an approach to infrared that is subtle and ethereal.

As co-founder of aspect2i, a renowned landscape photography workshop company, he has fostered a community of artists and shared his expertise with countless aspiring photographers. Beyond his work with aspect2i, Paul is a sought-after educator and lecturer, known for his engaging presentations and insightful workshops.
