Camversation Explore: Bruges meet up and photowalk [April 2025]

What is Camversation Explore? These are events which help to bring people together to share their passion for photography, in a supportive and friendly environment. When we come together like this, we use it as an opportunity to visit a location (often cities or other areas of interest) and explore the area together. These are designed to be entirely inclusive.

What can I expect? These are not fast-paced marches or photographic workshops. They are informal events which are designed to be friendly, relaxed, accessible and supportive. Lots of people often offer help or advice, but don't expect 1-2-1 tuition. We always have a itinerary or route prepared which is shared ahead of the event, but people often come and go throughout the day to focus on what they feel they would like to get from an area.

We use location sharing throughout the day to ensure people can come and go as they please and no one is left alone.

Where possible, we try to come back together for lunch and also organise an evening meal as a way of relaxing and getting to know each other better!

Who plans them? Polina Plotnikova will be running this Explore session for us as she knows Bruges very well, having visited it a great deal over the years. Particular highlights around Bruges include:

• Impressive Renaissance and medieval architecture

• Charming cobblestone alleys

• Urban wildlife, the famous swans of Bruges

• Iconic, chocolate box pretty location of world heritage Beguinage with carpets of daffodils.

• Plenty of street life. (people, horse carriages, boats etc)

• Early morning slow shutter speed and sunrise photography (Saturday morning for those who are able to arrive the day before)

• Stunning refections along the canals

Who can come? Anyone can register to come to an event, but preference is given to those who have attended workshops or presentations on www.camversation.co.uk. We have to do this as our events are very often over-subscribed!!

Notes about travel:

Purchasing a ticket to join this Explore event does not include travel, accommodation or insurance. It is your responsibility to organise this and ensure you have adequate insurance/cover for yourself and your belongings should there be a problem.

There are numerous ways to get to Bruges. If you are able to arrive the night before (Friday 11th April) then we may also be able to organise a dinner together, so we can all have a chat.

If you would prefer to arrive on the morning of the Explore event, then please aim to arrive early.
