Christmas Quiz!

Christmas is a time for connection, but we know it can sometimes feel a little quiet, especially as photography is often a solitary hobby. So, this year, let's swap our viewfinders for some virtual fun!

I am inviting you to an evening designed purely to bring our wonderful community together for a fantastic cause. We are hosting the ultimate Camversation Christmas Quiz, and I am delighted to say that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to The Christie in Manchester, helping them move towards a future without cancer.

The All-Star Line-Up

We have gathered a "Super-Team" of Camversation fan-favourites to host the rounds. It is rare to get this many friendly faces in one room! Confirmed to lead the festivities are:

Think you know your aperture from your elbow?

Now is your chance to prove it! It’s the perfect excuse to grab a mince pie, pour your favourite festive drink, and test your knowledge against fellow camera lovers.

We have curated rounds to suit everyone, from the History Buff to the Movie Geek. Here is a sneak peek at what the team has in store:

• Round 1 (History with Glenys): Do you know if the world’s first permanent photo took 8 minutes, 8 hours, or 8 days to expose?

• Round 2 (Tech with Stan): We all use JPEGs, but do you actually know what the letters stand for?

• Round 3 (Riddles with Polina): "I have a shutter but no windows..." Can you solve the cryptic clues?

• Round 4 (Pop Culture with Cherry): From Paul Simon's "Kodachrome" to the cameras Neil Armstrong left on the moon—Cherry is testing your trivia!

• Round 5 (Winter with Celia): Why do your snowy landscapes turn blue?

• Round 6 (Dad Jokes with Joe): Why was the camera arrested on Christmas Eve? (You’ll have to turn up to find out!)

Come As You Are (Or Dressed as a Tree!)

You can join in as a solo challenger, team up with your household on the sofa, or even create a virtual 'super-team' via WhatsApp with friends.

Competitions: It wouldn't be a Christmas party without a dress code. We will be awarding prizes for the Best Christmas Hat and the Best Christmas Jumper. The more sparkle, tinsel, and questionable fashion choices, the better!
