Adding mood to your images

There are a million different ways to add mood to your images; in this session we’ll look at some of the simplest and most effective. We’ll explore various techniques and reasons for applying blur to your images—to draw focus, to enhance bokeh, to create motion, to miniaturise, and to give an ethereal quality with the popular Orton technique.

We’ll also explore how to amp up the drama by adding or removing light in a variety of ways such as vignettes, spotlights, and lens flares, as well as various techniques for changing the mood with colour—colour balancing, colour grading, and the popular technique of using selective colour.
