About the event:
Margaret is a real stalwart of the Camversation community, having attended well over a hundred talks over the past couple of years. I feel she is a real legend in the UK photography scene and is a real force of nature!!
About this talk:
Having enjoyed travelling to 40 different countries over a period of just over 20 years she has seen many wonderful things near, on or in the sea. In this talk, she will show a selection of the Sand Patterns, Shells and Stones, Birds, Animals, Whales, Tourists, Events, People and their behaviour, the bizarre amusing
and strange things which she has seen and captured “Beside the Sea”.
In first half Margaret will share Seascapes, different approaches to this and ways of doing images and light and time of day etc. then Waves followed by Sand scapes/shells/seaweed (close ups) then Birds seen beside the sea. Quite an exlectic mix!
The second starts with things In the sea (rocks plants seaweed) before moving on to man made elements, such as Marker Buoys Lighthouses, Statues before moving onto Fishermen, Events beside the sea (e.g Sandcastles record) and then finally on to People - what they do beside the sea!
About Margaret:
Margaret believes there is no limit to how many subjects you can find or pictures you can take in any place, anywhere, it just needs the ability and willingness to “look and see” what is around you.
Margaret Salisbury otherwise known as “The Welsh Dragon” because of her signature drawing of a Dragon on the back of her prints. Margaret has been a committed photographer since she attended “Photography for beginners” to learn how to take snapshots of her then two pre-school age Children. She became “hooked” on photography in producing images in the Darkroom seeing one of her images appearing in a Dish of Developer which for her was “pure magic”.
Margaret has taken literally thousands of images in many Genres, starting with her love of Monochrome of Slate Landscapes of North Wales around which her first two Fellowships were produced. From Landscape and Seascapes to Environmental Portraiture or Candid/Street photography, Creative, capturing the
bizarre, anything she sees close to home or Travel photography when travelling to many countries across the world. Whatever the subject Margaret classes her images as “Pictorial Photography”.
