About the event:
I am thrilled to finally welcome Claire Carter back to Camversation! We all utterly loved her previous presentation and I know so many people have been signing up to this one in anticipation!
Forces of Nature with Claire Carter
Forget the idea that landscape photography is about still life. In Claire’s world, the land is constantly moving, breathing, and changing.
In this 3-part series, Claire will share with you how to stop taking static snapshots and start capturing the energy of the elements - from the rushing tides of the Scottish Highlands to the dancing Northern Lights.
If your landscape images ever feel a bit flat, this is the series that will give them a pulse!
The Series Breakdown
A single ticket gives you access to ALL three sessions:
Part 1: Air & Atmosphere (Monday 8th Dec 2025) How do you photograph the invisible? We start by looking at the "Fourth Dimension" of photography: Time.
Mastering the Mood: How to use mist, fog, and low cloud to create atmosphere.
The Wind: Techniques to show movement in trees and grass using shutter speeds.
The Living Landscape: Moving beyond the postcard view.
Part 2: Light & Transient Magic (Monday 12th Jan 2026) Chasing the fleeting moments that disappear in seconds.
Chasing the Aurora: A dive into capturing the Northern Lights (including a special look at an animated aurora shot!)
Weather Events: How to anticipate and capture rainbows and dramatic storm light.
Moving Light: Understanding how light travels across a landscape.
Part 3: Water, Ice & Tides (Monday 2nd Feb 2026) Mastering the flow. Whether it’s the crash of the sea or the stillness of ice.
Water dynamics: Sea, rivers, and tides.
Frozen Beauty: Composition tips for snow and ice.
The Power of Water: Using water as a leading line and a dominant subject.
This isn't just a presentation; it is a workshop designed to change how you shoot.
Watch & Learn: Three in-depth live presentations with Q&A.
Go & Do: You have weeks between sessions to practice the techniques in your own local area.
Share & Grow: Upload your results to our private community group for sharing and support!
About Claire
“Photography changed my life, enabled me to see things and go places I otherwise would not have entertained.” — Claire Carter.
Claire is an award-winning photographer based in the stunning Scottish Highlands. Originally a painter, she brings an artist's eye to her photography, focusing on composition and emotion rather than just technical settings. With a background in education, she is that rare combination: a brilliant artist who actually knows how to teach.
This talk will be recorded and made available for four weeks after the final event
