Following the wonderful success of her fine art floral masterclass, internationally recognised nature photographer Jackie Kramer returns to Camversation for a brand new 2-part progressive workshop series focused on creative bird photography.

Whether you are photographing birds in your own back garden or preparing for a faraway wildlife adventure, this series will give you the creative vision and technical workflow needed to transform standard wildlife shots into memorable pieces of art.

About Jackie Kramer

Jackie Kramer is an internationally recognised nature photographer, educator, and tour leader specialising in flowers, birds, and creative nature photography. Known for her expressive use of colour and ability to reveal the beauty of the natural world, she founded Phlorography: Artistic Floral Photography, a thriving global community for floral photographers, in 2015.

Jackie leads photography tours to some of the world's most beautiful gardens, as well as premier birding destinations in Central and South America. Through these events and her online academy, Jackie helps photographers refine their skills and expand their creativity to better express their own unique vision.

The 2-Part Series Breakdown

Session 1: On Wings and Wonder

This opening presentation delves into the wonderful world of birds as seen through the eyes of an artist passionate about our natural world. Jackie will discuss practical matters in the field and technical methods that complement each other in the making of images that represent the beauty, energy, colours and character of her subjects.

Jackie will touch on a variety of topics including field preparation, equipment choice, the photography process and an introduction to post-processing. Vivid examples throughout her talk will inspire you to plan your own avian photography adventures, wherever you choose to shoot.

Session 2: Beyond the Image: Crafting Artistic Bird Photographs

In this follow-up presentation, Jackie takes you behind the scenes of her creative process. She reveals how her bird images come together, from planning the shot in the field to the final refinements in post-processing. She will share her favourite bird photography locations, discuss the environmental conditions she looks for and offer an inside look at the decisions that shape her images before she ever presses the shutter.

Through detailed editing demonstrations and before-and-after examples, Jackie will walk through her Lightroom and Photoshop workflow. You will see how she enhances light, colour, mood and composition while staying true to the spirit of the original scene. Along the way, she will discuss common editing challenges, creative solutions and the artistic choices that help transform a good photograph into an extraordinary one.

Recordings:

There is no need to worry if you cannot make a date or simply want to re-watch a specific technique. Each session is recorded and you will have immediate full access to both recordings for four weeks. This means you'll be able to watch until Sept 2026
