Photoshop Unlocked: The Hidden Power of Menus & Panels Celia Henderson

What is this series about?

Most people learn Photoshop by clicking the icons on the left-hand side, the Tools. But the real power of Photoshop, the engine that drives the professional workflows, lives in the Menus at the top and the Panels on the right.

Celia Henderson is taking us on a guided tour of these hidden areas. We are moving past the basic cropping techniques and looking at Workflow, Speed, and Precision.

PART 1: THE FOUNDATIONS (Instant Access)

These sessions have already taken place. You will receive the recordings immediately upon booking the series.

• Session 1: The Overview. We started by demystifying the relationship between Menus and Panels. A great primer on the File menu and getting the best from the Window menu.

• Session 2: Files & Formats. A deep dive into the Image menu (Modes, Canvas sizes) and the properties panel. Essential setup knowledge.

• Session 3: The Adjustment Engine. We focused entirely on the Image menu and the Adjustments panel, the heart of colour correction.

• Session 4: Perfect Selections. A dedicated session on the Select Menu. We left no stone unturned in finding better ways to isolate subjects.

PART 2: THE WORKSPACE & LAYERS:

• Session 5 (12th Jan, 2026)

  • The Command Centre. We are looking at the Window and View menus. Learn how to customise your workspace so your favourite tools are always ready, and master the Navigator to fly around your images with ease.

• Session 6 & 7 (19th & 26th Jan, 2026):

  • The Layer Brain. The Layer Menu and Panel are the heart of Photoshop. We go deep into managing, organising, and understanding the logic of layers.

PART 3: DESIGN & OUTPUT

• Session 8 (2nd Feb, 2026):

  • The Type Studio. Mastering the Type Menu. Paragraph styles, glyphs, and text tricks for when you need to add words to your images.

• Session 9 (9th Feb, 2026):

  • The Perfect Finish. A deep dive into the File Menu, specifically the Export and Save options. Never wonder which format to use again.

• Session 10 & 11 (16th & 23rd Feb, 2026):

  • The Edit Suite. It is not just Copy and Paste. We look at the Edit Menu to find the hidden automation tools that speed up compositing.

PART 4: THE SPECIALIST MODULES

• Session 12 & 13 (2nd & 9th Mar, 2026):

  • Automation & The Cloud. Using Scripts to do the boring work for you, and understanding how Adobe Cloud works (vs your hard drive).

• Session 14 (23rd Mar, 2026):

  • The Channels Masterclass. One whole session dedicated to the Channels Panel, the secret weapon for making impossible selections like hair and trees.

• Session 15 - 20 (13th, 20th & 27th April, 11th & 18th May 2026 & 1st June, 2026):

  • We cover everything from Blend Modes, the Styles Panel, to Libraries and a final Mop Up session to catch any hidden gems we missed.
