Maryellen returns to share her passions for textures!

Date & time:
20 May 2026, 20:00 – 21:20 BST
Zoom (link will be emailed ahead of event)
About the event:
Maryellen's photography and creative approaches are just absolutely stunning. It's a real pleasure to invite her to present to Camversation, as I know she has supported the community for a number of years!
About the talk:
You asked, and she said yes! Following her incredibly popular first session, Maryellen Stone is returning for a brand new presentation on the art of textures.
When over 100 photographers joined us for Maryellen's first event, the feedback was phenomenal. Since then, it has been fantastic seeing so many of you posting your amazing results in the Facebook group and asking when we can do more of this.
While the first session looked at finding and creating textures, this next event is a practical walkthrough focused on making use of and applying those textures to your images.
What We Will Cover
Here is a taste of what we will be looking at, with more specific details coming very soon:
Practical Application: Going beyond the basics to look at precisely how to apply and make the most out of your textures across different types of images.
What Works and What Does Not: We will explore common mistakes, looking at why some textures muddy an image and exactly how to fix them.
The Reasoning Behind the Edit: Understanding the thought process behind choosing specific blending modes and masks to achieve specific creative results.
Do I need to have watched the first session to attend?
Not at all. This is a completely standalone event. Whether you are a total beginner to textures or you have been experimenting since Maryellen's first visit, you will be able to follow along and learn some incredible new techniques.
(If you do want to catch up on Part 1, the recording is still available in the library).
