The Magic of Black and White Photography with Susanna Euston

Susanna is someone whose work I have enjoyed for some time now, it's fabulous to bring her to Camversation to share her passion for black and white photography!

About Susanna:

Susanna Euston is a long-time, award-winning photographer, artist, and graphic designer. For most of her 40+ years in the design and photographic arts, documentary photography was her focus, including commercial and portrait. In 1995, she and her husband moved to Asheville, NC, a beautiful area surrounded by national parks and forests — a photographer’s dream! In addition to commercial work, her attention turned to the landscape. 

She brings her love of nature and places, her sense of aesthetics and design, and old and new technical skills to create beautiful and creatively interpreted images of the natural environment. Her interpretations of nature embrace “Classical” Black & White and color, Infrared, and Abstract Techniques. Joy and, sometimes, mystery radiate from her images. 

About the talk:

Susanna’s focus for “The Magic of Black & White Photography” presentation rests on her years as a black and white photographer — from film to digital. Her love of the genre — the way it emboldens subjects, makes textures come to life, and enhances the lights, darks, and contrasts in an image are, indeed, magical! Join her to view images captured in the landscape, from flowers to rivers and waterfalls to forests.
