About the event:
This presentation explores the factors and considerations that go into creating engaging and compelling images. Eugene will discuss how photography can go beyond simple documentation to communicate ideas visually, tell a story and captivate a viewer.
Through a process of self-reflection, Eugene shares his personal journey in landscape and nature photography. He explains how understanding the environments he shoots, while embracing external interests such as geology and science fiction, can lead to stronger, more personal bodies of work.
The presentation covers the following core areas:
The Concept of Flow: How to find and foster your maximum creative potential.
Personal Influences: Examining how external interests, emotions and your individual history shape the way you see the world.
Visual Communication: Developing a style that is unique to you rather than following a standard formula.
Storytelling: Techniques for creating images that resonate with an audience on a deeper level.
Creative Decisions in Editing: An exploration of how post-processing choices amplify mood and reinforce a visual concept, such as an alien landscape, focusing on artistic intent rather than technical workflow specifics.
About Eugene Theron
Eugene is a landscape and wildlife photographer originally from South Africa, now living in North Wales. His work is fuelled by a love for the outdoors and a desire to capture dramatic light and mood. While mountains and the coast of Scotland hold a special place in his portfolio, his background as a geologist provides a unique perspective on the textures and forms of the natural world.

A Note from Mark
It was an absolute pleasure to meet Eugene at the Photography Show and learn more about what makes him tick. He represents exactly what Camversation is all about: learning new things, trying new approaches and not getting caught up with just perfection, but continually pushing forwards.
I am excited to share Eugene's work with everyone across two different sessions this year. Whether you are a regular or joining our community of over 9,000 enthusiasts for the first time, you will find Eugene's approach to quiet photography incredibly refreshing.
THIS PRESENTATION WILL BE RECORDED AND AVAILABLE TO WATCH FOR UP TO FOUR WEEKS.
