Date & time:

27 Mar 2024, 19:00 – 21:00 GMT

Zoom (link will be emailed ahead of event)

About the event:

I am as pleased-as-punch to welcome Doug Chinnery to Camversation, who is not only someone who has been widely requested, but is also someone who I have admired very much for a long time! - Mark.

From Doug:

In this discussion after considering how and why I shifted from being a professional landscape photographer to one who makes expressionistic abstract images, I endeavour to explore abstract photography.

Why is abstract work so difficult to visualise in the field and process in the studio?

Why does our audience find it harder to understand than representational work?

What can help us make compelling abstract images?

How can we as photographers learn from abstract artists?

This will be a talk much more about the ‘why’s’ of making images than the ‘how’s’. I hope you find it useful and interesting”.

This talk will be recorded and made available after the event.
