About the event:

Photoshop Workshop Paint Like an Artist 1/2 [TWO PART TALK] with Celia Henderson

Please ensure you buy both event tickets: 14th & 28th January, 2024. They are listed seperately.

Fancy converting your image into an Impressionist painting - according to the Tate (kids page) Impressionism is bright colours, bold brushstrokes and a rebellious spirit! And Sotheby’s describe Impressionism as a style of painting with visible brushstrokes that offer the bare impression of form with an emphasis on the accurate depiction of natural light. In Part 1 of this workshop you will learn how Photoshop can meet those two definitions

By using filters, blend modes and brushes to create the effect of thick paint, use art history brushes to build up the effect of multiple layers of paint applied with a brush or palette knife, to create deep textures and really understand how filters work in Photoshop, blend the filters together to create your desired effect and don’t let Photoshop’s vast array of filters overwhelm you – they are just emulating how the artist works.

We will work with a variety of Photoshop brushes that create the effect of quick, loose visible brush strokes, which result in bright paintings.  Learn how to modify the behaviour of the brush, just as you would as a painter.

These talks will be recorded and made available for FOUR weeks after the event.
