Some questions...

It means an awful lot to me that you’re supporting this community, which was set up during COVID to bring photographers together. We have lots of online talks, workshops and also an increasing number of physical meetups!

- Mark.

  • I've not received my Zoom room link
Don't worry! This sometimes does happen! Email mark@camversation.co.uk and let me know what talk you've registered for. I'll log on to Zoom and ask them to re-send you a link. Here is a guide on how you can fix this issue: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360032808951-Not-receiving-emails-from-Zoom
  • Can I buy a talk I've missed?
Yes. Most speakers are very happy for me to rent their previous talks. Look on www.camversation.co.uk/shop for more information.
  • The password for the recordings doesn't seem to work!
Don't worry - there is usually an easy fix to this! Ensure you have copied and pasted the password - this is because there can be numbers which look like letters, and vice-versa. Try using an incognito window or private browsing tab to open the link. Here is a guide on how to do that: 3. Let me know if these don't work and I'm sure we'll make something work for you!
  • How do I access the recording?
Around 2-3 days after the talk or workshop has taken place, you will receive an email with a link to a secure part of the website which contains the recording. This will be sent to the email address which you used to register for the talk. If you know there is a mistake somewhere, let me know by emailing mark@camversation.co.uk. Most talks and workshops are available for two weeks, but some are offered for up to 2 months.
  • How do subcriptions work?
When you subscribe to Camversation, you pay a single monthly fee for all LIVE events and their recordings (for two weeks), as you would if you bought the tickets individually. It's a much simpler way than buying each ticket individually, as you don't have to go through the buying process for every talk, each month. It's all automated. Subscribers have access to a page which gives them all of the talk links in one place, along with all of the recordings they're eligible to watch. It's quite easy! Here is a recording on how it all works. It's worth a watch, despite it being quite long!
  • How do your online talks happen?
We host online talks using Zoom. You'll need to download the Zoom app and keep it up to date. When you buy a ticket, you'll get a registration link. When you click on this, you'll be asked for the email address you'd like the Zoom room link sent to. You should get this Zoom link very quickly! Most talks start at 7pm UK time (currently BST / UTC +1) & you can join the Zoom waiting room 30 mins before that.
  • How do I log in to the Camversation website?
Becoming a member of the Camversation website is a great idea, as it allows you to keep a track of what you have bought and what events are upcoming! I have made a brief video on how to register and log in:
  • How do I pay for online talks?
You can pay for online talks on Camversation using a range of payment methods, such as ApplePay, GooglePay and Credit Cards - along with PayPal.
  • What software is used to join the live, online talks?
We use Zoom to host all of our online talks. It is recommended that you join via the Zoom app and not over the web. The link to download is below:
  • Do you use the text-chat feature?
Yes we do and very much enjoy it! The text-chat in our Zoom sessions is extremely active and popular with participants. I have made a brief video on how you can minimise this, if you'd rather not take part:
