BRAND NEW SERIES: Intentional Creative Moments, with Stephanie Johnson.

Stephanie returns to share her beautiful new artwork and approaches to her creative photography in this new series for Camversation. This is something which has been highly requested by members of the community and it's always lovely to share new ideas!

Have you ever felt a gap between the photos you take and the art you want to create? Are you looking to break out of a creative rut and develop a more personal, expressive style?

If so, we are thrilled to welcome you to a new creative journey. Join Stephanie Johnson, a globally recognised artist and one of the most inspiring guides in creative photography, for a brand-new, five-part Camversation series.

Many of you know Stephanie as a world-renowned expert in Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). This new series is a direct reflection of her own artistic evolution - a pivot from a single technique to the deeper philosophy behind all creative work: Intentional Creative Moments. Stephanie is a real fan-favourite on Camversation and it's always such a pleasure to have her back, sharing new ideas.

This series is for every photographer, from traditional landscape shooters to abstract artists, who wants to find their unique voice. It’s a warm invitation to move beyond just technical settings and discover your why. Together, we'll explore new ways of seeing, nurture your creative confidence, and learn to use your camera as a true tool for expression.

Your Five-Part Creative Journey

This series is live every two weeks, building your creative skills and vision step-by-step.

(Session 1: Nov 3) - Overview of Multiple Exposure & Creative Camera Techniques Go beyond the single snapshot. This first session dives straight into the how, demystifying in-camera creative techniques. You'll learn to layer and blend moments using Multiple Exposures and other intentional methods to create unique, expressive images.

(Session 2: Nov 17) - Overview of Cyanotypes Discover the magic of a historic, hands-on process. Cyanotypes are a beautiful, antique printing method (dating back to 1842!) that creates stunning, one-of-a-kind cyan-blue images using UV light—no darkroom needed. Stephanie will share her experience with this tactile process, connecting your digital photography to a timeless art form.

(Session 3: Dec 1) - Overview of Abstract/Creative Processing in Photoshop Your creativity doesn't stop when you upload your images. This session unlocks the digital canvas, teaching you to use key Photoshop tools not just for retouching, but for artistic expression. You'll learn how to transform your images into unique abstract pieces that reflect your personal vision.

(Session 4: Dec 15) - Overview of Blending Digital & Analogue Techniques This is where it all comes together. Why choose between digital and analogue? Stephanie will show you how to merge the best of both worlds—combining the soulful, tangible qualities of processes like cyanotypes with the precision of your digital workflow to create rich, layered, mixed-media art.

(Session 5: Dec 29) - Share Your Own Work (A celebration!) The creative journey is best shared. This final session is a supportive, inspiring, and interactive showcase. You'll have the opportunity to share the work you've created during the series, receive encouraging feedback from Stephanie, and celebrate the incredible art made by your fellow attendees.

This provides access to VIEW THIS RECORDING for two weeks only. It does not permit downloads. From Stephanie:I have a deep passion for the art and beauty of ICM photography, and I love encouraging others to experiment, explore, and play with intentional camera movement. Creative expression is the ability to use our imaginations to create something that represents who we are, and ICM is a technique that uniquely enables each of us to authentically express our own individual artistic vision. Play is an important part of creativity, and when we consistently and persistently play freely with the camera, we learn to connect with our inner artist, and ultimately to find a deeper understanding of what we want our images to communicate. There is so much joy to be found in the freedom of letting go and seeing what happens, and ICM has the ability to lead us on a wonderful journey of exploration and creative expression. In this talk, I will share some thoughts on what I have learned over the years about the importance and value of creative expression, and I will present a series of new ICM images that have never been seen before. I will talk about ICM through the lens of my own artistic curiosity and deeper exploration of creative expression, as well as how my ICM images communicate my personal why and how they represent who I am as an artist. In addition to the series of new ICM images, I will also share: A short inspirational video, set to music, that visually connects several of my ICM images with specific words or ideas about creativity A number of my personal favorite ICMs from the past few years, with details about how I created them Some before and after examples, to show what the scene looked like before compared to how it was transformed through the use of camera movement The kinds of things I look for in a scene and how I use those elements to create visual interest in my ICM images A few additional images describing various ICM techniques and the settings used in the making of the images

One single ticket covers the cost of the entire series.

These sessions will be recorded live, so you will not miss out if you can't watch live!
