About the event:

Join us for an inspiring workshop built around our personal Greatest Hits. These are the images, genres and processes we return to again and again because they challenge us, excite us and remind us why we picked up a camera in the first place.

This is a series about why we love photography.

We are two photographers with different perspectives, shared obsessions and a love for helping others unlock their creative voice. We will each bring our own favourites to the table for this series, alternating sessions, celebrating your images and co leading challenges.

We will share the why behind each favourite subject. We want to show you what drew us in, what we have learned and how you can make it your own.

The Series Each class we will dive into a new favourite subject or style, from the architecture and street to moody florals and expressive collage.

  • Session 1 The Linear Journey Mark Evans 11 March

    • Focus One Route One Journey

About the Presenters:

Leanne Trivett S Leanne is a visual artist and photographer who uses the lens for lyrical storytelling and self inquiry. With a background in theatre and vocal performance she brings a love for transformation to her work. She explores themes of self portraiture, experimental florals and abstraction, often using techniques like ICM, blur and layering to move beyond the literal. She describes her camera as a compass tracing the intricate edges of her inner world to find moments where emotion spills into form.

Mark Evans Mark is the founder of Camversation and a photographer obsessed with finding the extraordinary in the mundane. His work focuses heavily on street scenes and architecture, often utilising high contrast light and shadow to create graphic narratives. He is known for his patient philosophy, challenging himself to stay in a single location for extended periods to uncover layers of detail that others miss. He believes that creativity thrives on constraint and that the best stories are often found on the most ordinary street corners.

From Mark:

I am absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Leanne again for this series. I have always been a huge admirer of her work and the incredible depth of emotion she brings to her images. It is rare to find a teaching partner who shares such a similar passion for the craft while having such a distinctly different visual style. Bringing her soulful, tactile approach together with my own focus on graphic light and street scenes is going to offer a fantastic balance. I really enjoy working with Leanne and I cannot wait to get started.
