About the talk
White balance isn't just about getting the colours right. In multiple exposure photography it can completely change the mood, atmosphere and feel of your images.
Janina shows how altering your white balance influences each exposure, and how that produces unexpected colour combinations, beautiful tones and creative effects. It is an often overlooked camera setting, and this evening is about using it to take your multiple exposures somewhere new.
If you have ever wondered why two photographers can shoot the same multiple exposure and come away with completely different colours, this is where that question gets answered.
Who this is for
Anyone who makes multiple exposures, or would like to. You do not need to have done Janina's architecture series, and you do not need to be confident with the technique yet. This is one setting, explained properly, and it changes what everything else you do produces.
About Janina
Janina Wilde is an award-winning photography educator and the founder of Wilde Photography Academy. Janina spent twenty-five years teaching in secondary schools, and you can tell within about five minutes. She does not just show you what she did, she explains how and why and she does it clearly enough that you can go and try it the same week.
I have been working with Janina for two years now, and every workshop she runs for us is busier than the last. Her multiple exposure architecture series in January was one of our most popular of the year.
She is also a delight to work with. When we had our tiny stand at The Photography Show this year, she came along and presented on it. That was well beyond anything I had asked, and entirely typical of her!
She teaches in-camera multiple exposures and creative editing through online courses, talks and in-person workshops across the UK and internationally, helping photographers explore creative techniques and find their own visual style.

More from Janina
Both of Janina's previous three-part series are available to watch whenever you like:
Multiple Exposure Architecture — turning buildings into something fluid and impressionistic. If white balance in multiple exposures appeals to you, this is the natural next step.
