Editing the Scanned Image — A Guide by Sharon Garner
A digital guide to Sharon's editing process, taking a raw scan through to a finished piece, with all profits going to Cancer Research UK.
This is the companion guide to Sharon's final scanography session, all about what happens after the scan. If you enjoyed watching Sharon edit live, this is the written version you can follow along with at your own pace, step by step.
Inside, Sharon walks you through her whole editing process. She starts with colour and light correction, straightening and sharpening, then shows two ways to clean up the black background, a simple method for straightforward images and the Select and Mask approach for flowers with fuzzy stems and wispy petals. From there she covers extending the background, tidying up blemishes and stray bits, combining several scans into one new composition, and finishing with a little hand colouring. It is written in Sharon's own warm, clear voice, with pictures at each step, so you can work through it whether you are new to Photoshop or already comfortable in it.
All profits from this guide, after platform fees, go to Cancer Research UK. It is a cause close to Sharon's heart, so buying the guide is a small way to pick up something useful and do a little good at the same time.
The guide is priced at £6. If you would like to give more, simply increase the quantity at checkout. Every £6 is another gift to Cancer Research UK, and it all adds up.
This is a digital download, so you will be able to access it straight after purchase and keep it for good.
Thank you for supporting Sharon and this wonderful cause.
